a Martin Scorcese film
by Live Music Head
April 2008
A black and white opening.
Keith is making me laugh already.
Ya gotta love Keith.
But I can feel the Scorcese stress
wondering what the set list will be.
And look…
Sittin' on a Fence is included on one of those lists.
"Oh how I'd love to hear that!"
Clinton, what a handsome fella.
"Hey Clinton, I'm Bushed!"
Ya gotta love Keith,
but it does look like a party at a seniors centre,
this presidential-rock and roll meet and greet.
Jumpin Jack Flash is the opener.
Oh goody,
so we can get some of those overplayed tunes out of the way
straight off the top.
Mick's looking good in that black suit,
but the camera is moving way fast,
almost too fast for me.
I guess it makes the film more exciting.
The Beacon Theatre looks lovely,
and makes me think of the Dead.
I love every line, every nook, and every cranny
on the faces of these rockers.
Shattered.
And Charlie, oh so tired...
but, She Was Hot!
Wow, I almost forgot about this song.
I recall an amusing video of it with a sizzling lady in red.
"See Mick's dental work with all these upward camera angles?"
"And it appears he's holding the mic higher than normal"
Loving Cup.
"What's this guy's name again?"
"Jack White"
Not a bad duet.
As Tears Go By,
Mick has awesome abs
for Some Girls.
And his vocals sound great.
But there's not enough coverage of Wood.
A few clips of stupid interview questions,
and hey, It's Just My Imagination
(running away with me).
Horns,
and Mick is swearing...
"she doesn't f**king know!"
But the film highlight comes with Faraway Eyes.
Ronnie's on the slide,
and I love the way he wears his belt.
"Well the preacher kept right on saying that
all I had to do was..."
Champagne and Reefer.
The blues baby, the blues.
Mick on harp trading licks with
a Guy and a polka dot guitar.
Tumblin Dice,
and Lisa Fisher has great cleavage.
"F**k"
Mick, that's f**k x2
in that full length coat, but...
"It's good to see you...
It's good to see anybody".
Ya gotta love Keith.
He's Got the Silver with a butt
and probably really stinks of it.
But Lucifer makes a grand entrance
for his big song, in a new coat.
F**kx3.
"More camera on the drum kit please"
"There's just not enough coverage of the stage,
Mr Scorcese".
Live With Me.
"Blame it on the director or the editor", I'm told
"because there's plenty of camera".
But I'm no fan of Christina Aguilera.
Start Me Up is another one, overplayed,
but Tattoo You is my favourite Stones album.
There's the Cavett-Jagger interview clip,
but where's Dear Doctor?
I could've sworn I saw it on the set list.
Brown Sugar?
For all the kazillion songs they could do,
overplayed!
But I can never get enough Keith,
when he gives more elbow.
Keith gives good elbow.
And look at that attractive front row.
I wonder if they were hand picked
like the Elvis days of old.
Well,
bloody hell, it's Satisfaction!
A well-oiled overplayed rocking machine,
but the credits appear to be dangling like stars
ready for me to pluck right out of thin air,
and put in my pocket.
To the tune of Wild Horses,
an ending to the dedication of Ahmet Ertegun.
